The social institution under which a man and a woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments and/or religious ceremonies is called marriage. The celebration that follows the ceremony, usually a banquet, is known as the wedding reception. At the wedding reception, the groom, as well as the bride, is asked to deliver a wedding speech. Here, now, are examples of groom wedding speeches.
To begin your speech, take this as an example: “Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of my bride, I formally welcome you to our wedding reception. I hope that you’re all enjoying yourselves on this special day. It’s great to see so many friends and family, and I can honestly say that it would not have been the same without you.”
Another example goes along these lines: “On behalf of my beautiful wife, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to you all for joining us today to celebrate our marriage. After you have thanked your guests for their presence, you may share with them brief anecdotes about how your romance blossomed. What you have to do is to decide on a specific topic – how you and your bride met, how you realized that you were in love, the trials and challenges you’ve faced as a couple, and how you decided to take on life’s challenges together bound in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony, how you proposed and how your bride said yes, and the steps you took in planning your wedding.

Once you’re done filling your guests with stories about you and your bride, you may then address your bride and thank her for her gift of love. You may say something that goes like this: “To my wife and soul mate, I thank you for loving me the way you do. You have always made me smile even on a bad day. Your laughter is like music to my ears, and your voice is the sound I want to wake up to every morning for the rest of my life. I love you always and forever.”
